Mediolanum

The Mediolanum Group, 40% controlled by the Doris family and in which the Fininvest Group holds a 30% stake, introduced a new way of managing families' assets into Italy becoming a leader in the Italian financial market with 2,168,376 customers, 93.3 billion euros managed and conducted, 8,500 employees and 5,417 Family Banker® (at 31.12.2020).

Founded in 1982, the Group has strongly grown always pursuing its native strategic goal: complete satisfaction of customers' needs regarding savings, investments, welfare provisions, insurance and both personal and assets protection. This is a unique approach whose strategic nucleus lies in its integrated multi-channeling and the Family Banker® network.

Listed at the Milan Stock Exchange in June 1996, Mediolanum entered permanently into the Mib30, the index of companies with the highest capitalization in Italy. Today it's listed on FTSE Italia Mid Cap.

The Group's main companies in the Italian market are:
● Banca Mediolanum, founded in 1997 by Programma Italia, that in a few years has become a very successful banking model due to multi-channel access;
● Mediolanum Vita, one of the largest organizations in the Italian insurance market;
● Mediolanum Gestione Fondi, founded in 1985, the Asset Management Company that is entrusted with managing the assets of the Mutual Funds governed by the Italian Law.

Abroad, Mediolanum is active in Spain with Banco Mediolanum and in Germany with Bankhaus August Lenz: companies that have enabled the Group to bring into their own markets the multi-channel bank model based on the figure of the Family Banker®. The Group is also represented in Ireland with Mediolanum International Life, Mediolanum International Funds and Mediolanum Asset Management, and in Luxembourg with Gamax Management and Mediolanum International SA.

In July 2000 Banca Esperia, the Private Bank, was set up as a result of the joint venture between Mediobanca and Mediolanum.

In March 2009 was founded the Mediolanum Corporate University (MCU): an educational institute whose goals are the safeguarding and the communication of the company know-how, culture and values.

On December 30, 2015, Mediolanum S.p.A. was merged by acquisition into its wholly-owned subsidiary Banca Mediolanum S.p.A.: a company whose share capital is entirely held by the former.

On November 16, 2016, Banca Mediolanum S.p.A. and Mediobanca agreed to sell the 50% of Banca Esperia S.p.A's share capital to Mediobanca, which is the owner of its remaining share capital, in an agreement later to be defined.

In the end of 2017, the Investment Bank Division was created with the aim of developing the Advisory & Investment Banking business area, with a particular focus on small and medium enterprises.

Flowe was launched in June 2020, the new important strategic initiative put in place by Banca Mediolanum. Flowe is a newly established company of the Group, a reality aimed at presiding over a new market segment that is emerging, in an ever broader perspective, with an offer aimed at intercepting the needs of the younger target of our population. It is a better being plat-firm, that is a company platform dedicated to all those who - more and more numerous - are sensitive to the demands of sustainability, individual well-being and social evolution and who are looking for an innovative and completely digital banking service.
